Poland Deploys Fighter Aircrafts to Protect Airspace

(MENAFN) Polish and allied aircraft were rapidly deployed early Saturday to protect Poland’s airspace amid Russian attacks targeting Ukrainian sites close to the Polish frontier, the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command reported.

The command reported on social media platform X that fighter jets on duty were scrambled, while air defense and radar systems were elevated to the highest alert level. Polish forces were kept ready for immediate response.

By around 7 a.m. local time (0500 GMT), the command confirmed the operation had concluded, with ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems returning to normal.

Highlighting the preventive intent behind the actions, the command explained the mission was focused on securing Polish airspace and committed to maintaining constant vigilance. It will continue monitoring the situation in Ukraine and remain prepared to safeguard Poland’s security.
